First week is “in the books!”

Families, it was good to see many of you last night at our PTA-sponsored ice cream social! Our first week of school is coming to a close, and we have been busy assessing your student’s skills in each of our core subjects.

Many children have gained new academic strengths over the summer holiday, and the information we gather during pre-testing helps guide our instruction for each student.

Placement testing will wrap-up next week, and we are looking forward to beginning lessons! Mark you calendars for curriculum night, September 22 from 6 to 7 pm. We’ll meet in the Thoreau commons area, and then move to our classroom, where I will answer your curriculum questions and share volunteer opportunities.

Hello Quest 3rd & 4th grade students and families,

I look forward to seeing you soon and am busily preparing our classroom for year of learning. Our open house will begin in the Thoreau library at 2:30 p.m. this Thursday afternoon with special Quest introductions. Then, you can come into our classroom, say hello, and choose your desk & cubby for our first day; I will be here until 3:30 p.m.

If you cannot come, I will meet you and help you choose your desk & cubby on our first day of school: Tuesday, September 6th at 8:55 a.m.
